Havens Hospices

Havens Hospices needs a new adult hospice to continue providing care and support to individuals with a life limiting illness, and their families.

The new Fair Havens Hospice, with its welcoming and reassuring environment, will cover the population of Southend, Castle Point and Rochford, bringing together a range of specialist services to support people in making choices about their care from the day they receive their diagnosis, as they journey with their illness, and as the end of their life approaches.

It will incorporate 16 in-patient bedrooms, increased Day Hospice services, additional family support and beautifully landscaped gardens and grounds.

Thanks to the backing of individuals, businesses and community organisations, so far we have raised £2.3 million of the £2.5 million we need for The Next Step towards a new adult hospice for the community.

£5 can go a long way

A new Fair Havens will give people in South East Essex a new, modern hospice to turn to when they are facing an illness that cannot be cured and from which they are likely to die.  It’ll provide support for people at all stages of their journey - inside the hospice, within the community or their own home - and care for their family and friends making this journey with them.

Your donation of just £5 will help secure the future of Fair Havens Hospice within your community to care for those when they need it most.

Who is the new
Fair Havens Hospice for?

Here are just a few of those people who have had to turn to us. We are building this hospice for them, in memory of them and everyone else who has ever been cared for by us.

Brian's Story

For us, Fair Havens is the most special place, but it could be so much better.

Chiz's story

How can you not help to make the new hospice a reality? If we were millionaires, we'd give it all to Fair Havens. Forget how lovely they all are, I can honestly say if it wasn't for them, this level of care, I would have thrown myself under a bus. I've often thought about it. I dread to think what this town would be without Fair Havens - there are no alternatives for people like me.

Kevin's Story

We all back the new Fair Havens whole heartedly and still cannot understand why anyone would object to such amazing and undervalued care, especially for those who have very little choice left.

Pauline's Story

Without Fair Havens I don't know what we would have done. The hospice was filled with love and warmth and made such a heart-breaking few weeks that bit easier for us as a family. Without a doubt there needs to be a new hospice to help future families in their times of need, just like they helped us. How could you deny them that?

Richard's Story

Losing someone you care so deeply for is hard, but Fair Havens held our hand throughout and even now they still keep in contact to see if there is anything more they can do. Fair Havens has touched many lives. With a new and improved hospice they could reach many, many more. We NEED Fair Havens.
